Common fears and how to work with them

"Death is not the biggest fear we have, our greatest fear is the risk of being alive - the risk to be alive and express what we really are." Don Miguel Ruiz

When you think of your self-employment dreams you may find yourself saying:

* I do not know anything about the nuts and bolts of starting a business - legal structure, taxes, accounting yikes!

* I do not have health benefits or pension plan

* I have no money to start a business is another common thing, I feel-this is so great that I will address two points! 6:07

In the meantime, I'm here to tell you to take a deep breath and know that it is better not to know these things before you start. Honest. Here are some secrets to what you really need to know to start your business.

1. Your business name - you must choose one. Do you want your name to describe your products or services; be new, and be easy to remember and write.

2. Form of business. Nearly 90% of small businesses start out as a "sole proprietorship" - this simply means that you alone own and operate the business. The good news? You must not do anything to become a sole proprietorship. There are 3 other types of entities that can be considered further down the road: partnerships, limited liability company and society.

3. Licenses and permits most cities or counties require a business license, it is a simple process-check with your local municipality, county government or chamber of commerce to see what kind of licenses or permits you need.

4. You can pay for your health insurance. I used an insurance broker who gave me a table of available insurance, benefits and costs.

5. You can set up your IRA. Your accountant can help with this. Your accountant can also help to rollover all existing pension funds you may have with your current employer: it is important to do this. It is truly rewarding to pay yourself first!

Now you have some information to get started. As you have heard often, your mind is your greatest asset in starting your business. So, know that you can get all the information you need as you go. Honest-it is better to learn "on the job."

Here are 3 action steps for you:

1.Select your business name to find an accountant and

2. Make an appointment

3. examine health care options in order to have the facts do not be afraid .......
