Male Violence Against Women
The anthropological literature has been defined as violence, that which is practiced against women in order to emphasize that culture has built a social construct that does not derive from human nature. This concept aims to combat psychological abuse, personal abuse, sexual exploitation and physical assault which the woman is subjected. In short, a strategy which aims to eradicate the perpetuation of relations of power and submission between men and women has been considering culture as a means of biological adaptation of man, which has established gender roles in society and established what we call patriarchy or machismo in popular language. In Vienna, in 1993 the UN positively discriminated against women's rights and specifically stated that violence against women was a violation of human rights. And in 1955 defined violence against women is "any act of gender-based violence that results in potential or actual physical harm, sexual or psychological, including threats, coercion or arbitrary deprivation of liberty, whether occurring in public life or private?. The concept of gender as it is introduced, with the aim to distinguish biological sex, to emphasize that female and male construction are the product of society, and limited to differences produced by human nature.
The violence is conceptualized as a learning acquired by enculturation or socialization and are based on two pillars: the misogyny, which is the dislike or hatred of women, and sexism, which is the conviction that his mission in life is to be at home with the broken leg.
Domestic violence or partner violence is the most common expression of gender violence. It produced violence within the family, marriage, but goes beyond it includes couples who live together without legal ties, couples who have not started living together and couples who have separated. The growth in Western societies of homosexual unions formed by both men and women, terminology is misleading, confusing the scope and therefore the pedagogical explanation of the fact that it is to tackle differential. Gender violence is born with the sole intention of removing the cultural barriers that have consolidated the paradigm of patriarchy, sexism throughout history. Consider it appropriate to speak of male violence against women to differentiate it from all forms of violence that occurs between human beings as a result of their relationships or affiliations: the abused child to the mother or father, the parent who abuses their children, the woman who abuses her husband or partner and the abuse incurred within homosexual couples both men and women and any other forms of abuse that occur within the home understood as a place of coexistence.
When you commit murder or murders by men and women to their sex couples, the fact is usually tick as gender violence as long as the terminology is directly associated with social observatory to reject violence as a global concept, the same way the term is often used to define the attack on a mother for her child or your partner. We insist on the idea that the concept of domestic violence created with the intention of fighting the mechanisms that have perpetuated the superiority of men against women simply by virtue of being so. But underlining the violence against women understood as a couple, as a possession, as the relative, self, in a heterosexual relationship. This means that domestic violence does not apply to the woman co-worker about his homosexual female partner or heterosexual male suffered by the hands of his wife. The term gender-based violence required to understand its scope, information is not an intuitive concept because it has nothing to do with the grammatical gender and biological sex.
Not intended to include new words dictionaries member type or midwife. It is a strategy that is part of a more ambitious program that aims to achieve effective equality between men and women. No claim to criticism of their arguments, but if to underline that the term gender-based violence is not accurate for a correct understanding by society. Fear grips us political correctness and the media talk about episodes of domestic violence within same-sex couples, unaware that the concept was born with the intention of becoming positive discrimination, that is, violence reproach men against women, defined as reflected in its role as partner, legitimate, cousin, girlfriend, or lover. We are very far from achieving the longstanding goal of the Egyptians use the word fair to the exact shade.
