Verified by Visa Card Authentication - Merchant ECommerce Security Service
Verified by Visa (VBV) is a credit card authentication service that Visa has developed to protect merchants that accept credit and debit cards over the Internet. VBV benefits participating merchants in the following ways:
* Delete merchant liability for fraud resulting from unauthorized processing of Visa payment cards.
* Reduces fraudulent transactions.
* Provides a safer place for customers to make purchases.
* In many cases lowers Visa credit card processing fees.
When implemented in an eCommerce merchant account, even if the cardholder's credit or debit card is not enrolled in Verified by Visa or your card issuer does not participate, the merchant is not liable for any fraud-related chargeback. Visa offers a simple way for merchants to integrate their VbV e-commerce sites and your partner payment processing should be able to provide details.
To use Verified by Visa cardholder credit and debit cards must first activate their cards. Activation can be done in one of the following ways:
* The payment card issuers typically provide an online activation and activation are integrated in the Verified by Visa card issuer's online banking site. Cardholders should have easy access to the site of activation, or may ask the issuer for assistance.
* Visa card issuers and merchants participants can see "Enabling anytime" banners or buttons that allow owners to activate their Visa card, click on the banner or button and follow the instructions.
* Cardholders can also activate when shopping on the merchant's site.
Once VbV is enabled, a credit card or debit card is automatically recognized when it is used for purchases at participating stores eCommerce. The cardholder is asked for his password, the password is verified and the transaction is completed online. Cardholders will see a symbol in the Verified by Visa password window.
Ask your suppliers of e-commerce payment processing for further information and assistance for the integration and use of this service .......
