Domain registration and Web Addresses
Before speaking of domain name registrations we must clarify some terms like IP Address, MAC Address, Domain Name, URL, among others, to get into context.
An IP address is a numeric label that identifies a device or interface, in our case a computer within a network using the IP protocol (Internet Protocol) that enables communication of data (packets) between the source and destination. Numbers are expressed as four octets in decimal notation, eg 192.162.1.100. Each octet can range between 0 and 255, separated by ".."
The type of IP Address currently being used is the IPv4, which is mentioned above and allows an address space of 232 (4294967296) but by the rapid growth in the Internet will soon be officially put into operation IPv6 consists of 128 bits and is expressed in hexadecimal notation 32 digits. The advantage over IPv4 is obvious in terms of addressing capability that reaches 2128 (3.4 × 1038 addressable hosts), that is, allow each person on earth has allocated several million IPs.
This number should not be confused with the MAC address is a unique identifier tag 48-bit network cards and do not depend on the connection protocol used.
The IP address can be public or private, and static or dynamic. Internet sites which by their nature need to be permanently connected generally have a fixed public IP address because it does not change over time and allow its location on the network.
Internet computers are connected through IP addresses. But us humans we find it more convenient or comfortable remembering words or phrases for what is known as the Domain Name.
The translation between IP addresses and domain names are resolved using the Domain Name Servers DNS, which also makes the job easier, allowing to maintain the same domain name but change the IP address.
A domain name is the unique identification associated with a group of physical devices connected to the Internet, remember and easy to find. An example would be www.herramientasparatunegocioweb.com domain, domain name registration: HerramientasParaTuNegocioWeb.com.
There are two main groups Domain Name: ccTLD: Top-level domain country code or Country Code Top Level Domain (. Cl. Co,. Ve). Currently there are over 248. They are administered by nonprofit organizations in each country, I delegated by the IANA ICANN for administration of ccTLDs.
gTLD: Generic Top Level Domains that represent a series of names and multi-organizations (GOV, EDU, COM, MIL, ORG, NET and INT). Currently there are over 20.
Not to be confused with the URL that would be: http://www. HerramientasParaTuNegocioWeb.com / index.html. The URL also refers to the protocol and specific website to query.
Once released the terms involved, hoping having clarified in a simple way, we passed the issue that concerns us regarding the Domain Registration.
The Domain Registration is the process by which a person happens to have control over a domain name in exchange for paying a certain amount of money to a company that sells Internet domains.
The procedure for registering a domain is as follows:
Name choice of disponibilidad.Ingreso Dominio.Verificación personales.Elección data valid time of the Domain Name to registrar.Efectuar service payments through the means of payment available, which is usually credit card.
Once arrival confirmation of the recent purchase of the domain owner must configure it with the URL to which redirection, IP of the server you will find DNS server. For such a domain is available you have to wait a few hours only and will gradually change to propagate the other servers in the world, what is known as resolution of the domain.
