Indicators In Forex Market Analysis

Indicators

An indicator is a tool of analysis is a mathematical calculation that applies to the price movement of a currency.

Used to know how has been the movement of these prices in the past and try to predict future prices.

A moving average fits this definition of indicator. It is a calculation that can be made on the price of one currency to obtain a value that can be used to anticipate future price changes.

Types of Indicators

Moving averages and MACD indicators are among the most commonly used to monitor trends in prices. Very effective when trends are long or constant over time, but are not able to pinpoint the changes that these same trends may experience. They simply reflect what is happening in the prices at a point in time.

These indicators are known as trend indicators and have the main advantage to stay on the current market, but do not work well in trending markets side.

There are other indicators, which many call leading indicators and are used to predict the future behavior of prices, but they are more risky, even if the correct signal is generated that provide great benefits. Work very well in trading ranges and are used to anticipate the subsequent price movement to lateral movement of the market. In other words, seek to determine when prices are going to bounce off one way or the other after a well-defined trend.

These indicators measure the level of overbought or oversold a currency, which is indicative of an imminent adjustment, but markets are markets and the setting is not always evident, causing leakage.

In the practice of trading it seems that the most effective operators are following market trends before making predictions about changes in them.

Trend and Laterality

There are several indicators that determine easily if prices are at a definite trend or sideways movements are developing.

The best recommendation is to use trend indicators in markets with price trends and leading indicators in markets with lateral movements.

In the next installment, we will report more detail on these indicators and trading systems in handling accounts within the forex market.
